What Our Customers Say
I wanted to transform a corner of my yard…
Turn gravel and weeds into grass. I excavated down to bare dirt, spread 4 pounds of LymeX® grass seed and topped it with a thin layer of peat moss. Several weeks with light rains germinated the seeds, accompanied by unfortunately, clover like weeds that had been lurking in the dirt. The weeds, with broad round leaves, grew faster. When the clover like weeds overshadowed the LymeX® I sprayed on ‘RoundUp for Lawns’ (kills weeds but not grass). A week later the clover weeds had turned brown and shriveled. I mowed the weeds above the height of the LymeX® grass and it now looks and feels like a lawn should. Behold, my LymeX® lawn! No mowing needed (once the weeds are gone). See pictures below of my site.

Santa Cruz, CAChristina is determined to stop animal suffering and to promote their well-being…
Christina Kobland and I have collaborated on many projects to help wild animals over the years. She is a true advocate for animals. Wild Animals Campaigner, In Defense of AnimalsWe loved the grass so much that we decided we’re doing the entire airfield…
I saw no downside to using FlightTurf®/LymeX® and thought if it reduces mowing and deters wildlife, great. If it doesn’t, we’re no further behind than we would be with the usual turfgrass. But after installation of LymeX® on an AIP runway extension, we loved it so much that we decided we’re all in, we’re doing the entire airfield, all 160 acres in LymeX®.

Executive Director of Erie International AirportIt has tremendously helped our erosion problem…
I didn’t do any preparation, I just broadcast the FlightTurf®/LymeX® seed on the ground without any preparation in areas where I wanted it to grow. It came to life and has tremendously helped our erosion problem.

Northeast Philadelphia Airport Maintenance SuperintendentThe fact is that it may save millions of dollars…
The FlightTurf®/LymeX® patented grass cultivated under a solar array will deter both wildlife and invasive vegetation while growing at an ultra-slow pace. The fact is that it may save millions of dollars.

PE, VP, Dewberry Professional Services, Ft. Detrick, MDGreen, healthy and free of invasives…
I visited PNE in the summer of 2012, with record temperatures and drought conditions. The FlightTurf®/LymeX® I viewed on the airside and landside of PNE was green, healthy and free of invasives. Turf normally becomes dormant when these environmental conditions persist for a long time. Dormancy includes browning of the blades and an increase of invasive species. FlightTurf®/LymeX® did not exhibit any of those negative attributes.

Foreman of Facilities and Maintenance, Chicago Rockford International AirportBiodiversity and the benefits of native or indigenous plants…
Christina is a passionate lecturer/speaker when it comes to the importance of balanced ecosystems. One key element as she explains is biodiversity and the benefits of native or indigenous plants to address diminishing wildlife habitat. She presents a very down to earth argument not using anecdotal but historical accounts and case studies of her achievements to illustrate stormwater management and cost saving benefits of the Native Return approach.

Deputy Director of Aviation, Planning & Environmental Stewardship, Division of Aviation, Philadelphia International AirportInsects seem to just avoid the lawn…
FlightTurf®/LymeX® is amazing. Yes, it was an expense to change it out and even the first two seasons I was still kind of wondering. This year though has been perfect. A little weed control in the Spring, some overseeding of the area to give it that extra pizazz. No fertilizers except when we first planted. I’m really loving it and I’m saving money in the process. Anyone that plants a lawn really should have this grass. Insects seem to just avoid the lawn which makes it really pleasant. This stuff is magical.

President, Weeds, Inc.It eliminates the mowing and weed-whacking expense…
We found the FlightTurf®/LymeX® to spread like wildfire. We seeded in early fall and within a couple months it had completely filled in. It over-wintered well and looked great the next spring. The big benefit is that it eliminates the mowing and weed-whacking expense from the solar O&M budget, which ends up being a sizable cost when factored over 25 years.

P.E., Ameresco SolarIt looks very promising…
I’ve seen great progress with FlightTurf®/LymeX® in our right-of-way, and it looks very promising. We are planning to expand the conversion program to other sites.

Senior Environmental Scientist, Public Service Electric & Gas Company, Newark, N.J.Conventional turf would have added about $3,000 annually to our mowing contract…
Conventional turf would have added about $3,000 annually to our mowing contract for the islands in our new parking lot. It is my hope and estimation that we can reduce this annual amount to $500 with FlightTurf®/LymeX®.

Dear Christina Kobland / Native Return, I am a Norwegian working as an architect but studying to become a landscape architect, and found your YouTube video “Building Biodiversity as a Best Practice in Landscape Management” very inspiring. I hope to dedicate my career to designing landscapes as biodiversity hot spots strategically using native plants and other elements. I hope this movement catches on quickly among landscape architects, and eventually the general public. Thank you for your inspiration and great service to the earth!

ArchitectWe’re grateful that Native Return restores a love for the natural biocommunity…
How wonderful to be in Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill Library, where Christina Kobland presented, through a lively narrative and a stunning slideshow, the principles and beauty of Native Return. Do people know that most of the species brought to extinction over the last 500 years lived right here in the United States? And that urban and suburban land owners can actually have an impact to shift the tide? Thanks to Christina Kobland, the people of greater Philadelphia know it, and we’re grateful that Native Return restores a love for the natural biocommunity, and all its precious life, to our minds and our landscapes.
